We were made for love.
not for prostitution
or promiscuity,
not for self-gratification
or sensual pleasure,
not for shared sentimentality
or physical expression,
not for human affection
or emotional fulfillment,
but for love.
There is a difference, you see,
We were made for love.
not for noble feeling
or lofty ideals,
not for togetherness
or mutual support,
not for friendship
or community,
not for marriage
or celibacy,
but for love.
There is a difference, still
We were made for love.
not for serving or
preaching or sharing,
not for sacrifice or
conversion or dying,
not for religion or
vows or church,
not for prayer or
contemplation or mysticism,
not for life, light, truth,
goodness, beauty,
but for love.
There is a difference, yet
We were made for Love.
For Life, Light, Truth
Goodness, Beauty,
for divine consciousness
and divinization
for all-absorption
in perfect union,
for transformation
in the Spirit,
for transfiguration
into godliness—
that is love, and
That is all the difference, you see.
