Everyone in this big town of 50,000 knows a lot about “The Virus,” but so far no one has seen it. This does not mean that we are immune to the suffering around us. Around here, so far, the fear is more contagious than the virus.

It seems as if God has put the whole world on retreat, whether people wish it or not. People here are going into crisis or going on retreat.

We in this house are trying to receive the gift—listening to some great talks by Catherine Doherty from the 1950s, and extending our hours of adoration and our rosary walks for the town.

Our telephone and email networks tell us how and for whom we need to pray.

At this time, we are especially praying with the angels. Pseudo-Dionysius, a late 5th to early 6th century Christian theologian and philosopher, says there is an angel over each country. We are asking the angels of each nation for the gift of faith and wisdom for our government leaders and for the Church.
