During this very strange time of Covid-19 and the many protests going on throughout the world, our feelings tend to run awry. We suffer from anxiety, loneliness, agitation and the list goes on. Some days are darker than others and there does not appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel. In a time of crisis, it is our basic instinct to run to prayer.

Where better can we look than at Our Lady’s appearance to the three children at Fatima in 1917. She delivered a few messages to them during those appearances, but her most important one was “pray the Rosary.”

In my own life, I quite often have a Rosary CD playing softly in the background, whether I am doing housework, sitting enjoying nature, or whatever my day brings.

I find that the gentle, repetitious praying of the Rosary seems to be absorbed into my inner being bringing relaxation, peace of mind and spirit, and a general sense of well-being. Situations that seem insurmountable suddenly appear simple and the answer obvious.

One of these music CDs is the new Complete Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet and Jesus Prayer—original music for contemplative prayer by Maryana Erzinger and Fr. Michael Weitl of Madonna House.

Maryana and Fr Michael sing together in a unity and beauty flowing from their love for the Lord. As I listen, pray, and meditate through the set of five CDs, I can feel the music and song wash over me. They are absorbed into my inner core almost like osmosis, leaving me refreshed and renewed.

Prayer is the essence of our being. The Rosary can bring peace to a troubled world, heal broken hearts, and give clarity to those in chaos. In times of darkness and trouble, my heart is touched by the music of the Rosary praying in me.
