Throughout the year, we realize what Christ has done for us, but in Lent, we realize it more vividly. He died on this terrible cross, and it was a death for love.
He loved us so much that he died for us. Let us allow this reality to flourish in our hearts. Let us concentrate on the fact that God loved us first.
When you really concentrate on it, it blows your mind that the Lord himself loved you. That is something so extraordinary that I cannot find words to express how he loved us.
The greatest sacrifice a person can give is his life. Well, Christ did that, so in the very depth of your heart the reciprocal love that you have for God should blossom forth.
