by Mary Lynn Murray.
One Saturday, I led a morning of recollection with a women’s group called Handmaids of the Lord. These are women from the Filipino community who meet regularly to pray and to serve their parish in a variety of ways.
They had asked us to teach them how to pray using the Lectio Divina method, and the teaching developed into a whole morning together including a talk, some quiet time, Lectio Divina, and a potluck lunch. The morning was a blessed time of praying and sharing, and by the end of it, I felt as though we had always known one another.
