Notes From Near and Far: Marian Centre Edmonton

by Réjeanne George.

Our relationship with the Ukrainian Catholics is growing. Bishop David Motiuk, the Ukrainian Bishop of the Edmonton Eparchy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Marian Centre, and thanks to his open-handed welcome, several of us attended the Ukrainian Catholic Sheptytsky Institute, a weekend of conferences.

Also, a youth group from First Baptist Church helped with some landscaping and dining room clean up. We have had a growing friendship with that congregation and several members of the church, including the lead pastor, who attended our open house.

The leader of their young adult ministry is hoping to bring a group to Combermere next year for a week of the summer school.
