The culture of death is marching across the world with no indication of repentance. Each day, more and more clearly, we are being offered a dramatic choice.
Will we choose to love or will we close our hearts to our fellowman? Will we choose to say, "I will," or will we enclose ourselves in the prisons of fear, smallness of heart, and selfishness? Will we choose life or death?
Let us pray that each of us, through the little things that face us day by day, can be brought into the Triumph of the Holy Cross. If God himself has poured his life out for us and continues to watch over us, who can say that anything is impossible? Our God is alive.
No matter who we are, no matter where we are, no matter what we do, the living God lives in each of us. We have nothing to fear, for a blaze of light comes silently, hiddenly out of every Christian. Nothing will overcome a Christian. Nothing can destroy a Christian.
God is raising up an army of saints all over the world. We must break open the smallness of our mediocrity, complacency, and narrow vision and drink from the wellspring of Life and Love.
The whole world is groaning and moving toward rebirth. God himself is smashing our human sin—our personal sin and our collective sin. We must keep our eyes on truth and love.
