Marysia Kowalchyk came to Madonna House in 1973. The beauty and symbolism of icons has been a source of deep inspiration for her. In 1993, she began a serious study of icon writing/painting with several master iconographers. She continues to write/paint from a studio in Combermere. The calendar contains an explanation for each icon; there is also a prayer or Scripture passage appropriate to it for each month. May the beauty of these “windows to eternity” carry you in peace through the New Year.
