Pioneers of the Madonna House Apostolate
Besides Catherine Doherty, Eddie Doherty, and Fr. John Callahan, many other staff members also played an important role in shaping the Madonna House Apostolate's way of life and history. Here, we would like to share some memorials of these pioneers who have now “fallen asleep in the Lord.”
- Fr. Émile-Marie Brière — a pioneer priest who was very close to our foundress.
- Jean Fox — served for 20 years as our first Director General of Women after Catherine's death.
- Kay O'Herin — a faithful staff worker for more than 50 years.
- Archbishop Joseph M. Raya — a Melkite Catholic who was our first Associate Priest (and later, when he retired, became a full-time member).
